CAPPADOCIA YOGA RETREAT
5-9 NOVEMBER 2025
A Sacred Retreat in a Cave Hotel
Escape to the ancient soul of Cappadocia, where earth, sky, and spirit converge in one of the world’s most mystical landscapes. This isn’t just a yoga retreat—it’s a sacred journey through time, carved in stone.
Nestled in the enchanting village of Uçhisar, our sanctuary for the week is the award-winning Taskonaklar Cave Hotel—a boutique cave hotel seamlessly built into the natural rock formations of Cappadocia. Every room is unique, hand-crafted with care, and opens to sweeping views of the iconic fairy chimneys and the magical valley below.

DAILY SCHEDULE
Day 1 – November 5, 2025: Athens – Pigeon Valley – Uçhisar
We meet at Athens International Airport for our flight to Cappadocia via Istanbul. Upon arrival at Kayseri Airport, we transfer to the picturesque village of Uçhisar—the highest point in the region, offering breathtaking views over the valleys below.
Following a stop at Pigeon Valley, we arrive at the stunning Taskonaklar Cave Hotel, settle into our rooms, and take time to ground ourselves.
In the afternoon, we come together for our first gentle yoga session, followed by dinner at a cozy local restaurant.
Day 2 – November 6, 2025: Göreme Valley – Avanos – Guray Ceramics Museum
We begin our day with meditation and morning yoga practice. After breakfast, we embark on our first full-day exploration starting at the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where we’ll discover conical rock formations and cave-carved chapels with centuries-old frescoes. Highlights include the Church of St. Basil, Dark Church, Snake Church, and more—each carved directly into the soft rock.
We then travel to Avanos, a charming town on the banks of the Red River (Kızılırmak), famous for its pottery heritage. We visit the Guray Ceramics Museum, where we’ll also enjoy our afternoon yoga practice in an inspiring space filled with ancient artistry.
Dinner at a local restaurant and return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3 – November 7, 2025: Uçhisar Village Walk – Whirling Dervishes Ceremony
After our morning yoga session, we enjoy breakfast and have some free time to rest or reflect. Later, we take a leisurely walk through the charming village of Uçhisar, stopping for coffee with panoramic views over the surreal valley landscapes.
In the afternoon, we’re invited to witness a Sema ceremony—a sacred, meditative ritual of the Whirling Dervishes, where music, dance, and spiritual devotion unite in a moving expression of the divine.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Uçhisar.
Day 4 – November 8, 2025: Derinkuyu Underground City – Horseback Ride through the Valleys
We begin with a morning yoga session, followed by breakfast. Today, we explore the southern region of Cappadocia, beginning with the incredible Derinkuyu Underground City (Malakopi)—a vast, multi-level city carved deep into the earth over 4,000 years ago. With its tunnels, chapels, storerooms, and air shafts, it is a humbling reminder of ancient ingenuity and resilience. On our way back to Uçhisar, we stop to experience a horseback ride through the moon-like valleys—a tranquil and unforgettable way to connect with Cappadocia’s dreamlike landscape.
After returning to the hotel, we unwind with our afternoon yoga practice, followed by dinner and a restful night’s sleep.
Day 5 – November 9, 2025: Uçhisar to Athens
Our final morning yoga session is a time for reflection and gratitude. After breakfast, we depart for Kayseri Airport for our return flight to Athens via Istanbul. On the way, we’ll stop to pick up some of Kayseri’s famous local delicacies. Arrival in Athens later that evening.
